WHAT IS PSYCHOTHERAPY? Psychotherapy
is a treatment that can alleviate stress and emotional turmoil as well as enhance creativity, problem solving skills and overall
well being. Psychotherapy is an evolving process. Some people call it "talk therapy." I invite you to click on the link at
the bottom of this page to read my blog.
HOW CAN PSYCHOTHERAPY HELP ME? Our behavior, thoughts, and attitudes
are affected by our unconscious -- that part of us that is not always normally accessible to us. Through psychotherapy, our
unconscious thoughts, wishes, needs and motivations become more accessible to us in a gradual way. As we become more
aware of these parts of ourselves through psychotherapy, we can gain conscious control of our lives. Psychotherapy can help
to free us of the hidden obstacles that hinder our personal growth.
HOW LONG DOES PSYCHOTHERAPY TAKE? Each
psychotherapy session is usually 45 minutes for individuals and one hour for couples. With regard to the length of psychotherapy
treatment, it's different for everyone. The length of psychotherapy treatment depends on how much you want to accomplish.
You decide how in-depth you want to go in your psychotherapy.
FEES? Some sliding scale fees available, subject
to availability.
WHAT ABOUT HEALTH INSURANCE FOR PSYCHOTHERAPY? If you have a standard indemnity plan or
if you have out of network mental health benefits, you can usually get a portion of the fee reimbursed to you for your psychotherapy
treatment.
IS PSYCHOTHERAPY RIGHT FOR ME? You can call me and set up a psychotherapy consultation. During
the consultation, you can talk about the issues that concern you, ask questions about psychotherapy and how I practice, and
we can mutually decide if working together would be a good fit.
WHERE IS YOUR PSYCHOTHERAPY OFFICE LOCATED? My psychotherapy office is convenient located in Greenwich Village in New York City and it is very accessible by public
transportation.
